Packaging plays its part too. Lighter, right-sized cartons mean more goods per trailer and fewer journeys overall — savings measured in both diesel and cardboard.
Finally, store closer to demand. Regional warehousing shortens the last mile, which is the most carbon-intensive stretch of many supply chains, while speeding up delivery at the same time.
